Jinggg, VALORANT prodigy of Paper Rex, makes early return from military duty to rejoin team

Jinggg Makes Unexpected Return to Professional VALORANT

Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie, one of the world’s top VALORANT players in recent seasons, is making a comeback to pro play sooner than expected after completing his mandatory military service. The Paper Rex star will be immediately added to the starting lineup.

Return to Action in the VCT Pacific Season

Paper Rex announced today that Jinggg will be returning for the upcoming VCT Pacific season, which begins in just over a week’s time. With his return, Paper Rex will reunite its original starting roster that won VCT Pacific and reached the Champions grand final last year. As a result, new addition Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha will temporarily move to the reserve role. In addition to his comeback, Jinggg has signed an extension that will keep him with Paper Rex until the end of 2026.

Medical Condition Not a Concern for His Return

According to the team, while registering for his mandatory National Service with Singapore, it was discovered that Jinggg has a manageable life-long medical condition. This condition, however, does not affect his ability to compete in VALORANT. The specifics of the condition have been kept private.

Paper Rex Thrilled by Jinggg’s Quick Return

Paper Rex’s chief gaming officer, Harley “dsn” Örvall, expressed the team’s preparedness for Jinggg’s military service but expressed great joy that he can return to competitive play earlier than expected. Despite Jinggg’s absence, Paper Rex has remained highly competitive, reaching the grand finals of Masters Madrid this past weekend.

By the end of 2023, Jinggg had become one of the most revered and admired players globally, explaining the excitement surrounding his return from players, teams, and fans across all major regions. He is known for his exceptional play as a Raze player and his fearless and dynamic duelist style that contributed to Paper Rex’s “W gaming” methodology.

If all the necessary paperwork can be sorted out in time, Jinggg may make his return very soon on April 7 against T1.
