100 Thieves’ Rising Star Quid Wins LCS Spring Split MVP
After an explosive Spring Split in 2024, one of the most promising young talents in the LCS has secured the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the season. Lim “Quid” Hyeon-seung, the mid laner for 100 Thieves, clinched the MVP title with an impressive 63 vote points, leaving his competitors behind. The two other players contending for MVP were Kim “River” Dong-woo, Quid’s teammate on 100 Thieves, and Kacper “Inspired” Słoma, the superstar jungler for FlyQuest.
Quid’s Journey to Success
At just 19 years old, Quid joined 100 Thieves during the 2023 Summer Split. The team had experienced a disappointing season with renowned players Bjergsen and Doublelift. As a replacement for these legendary players, the pressure was on for Quid. However, after a full year with the team, he has displayed the potential to become one of the best players in the region.
Quid’s Dominance in the Spring Split
Throughout the 2024 Spring Split, Quid demonstrated his prowess as a mid laner. He led all mid laners in kills with an impressive tally of 60. Additionally, he maintained an astonishing average of 738 damage per minute to enemy champions. Quid also showcased strong early game laning stats and held the second-lowest gold share in his role, only accounting for 24 percent of his team’s total income. With his remarkable performance, he played a pivotal role in leading 100 Thieves to the top of the regular season standings with a 10-4 record.
Building for the Future
Despite 100 Thieves’ early exit from the playoffs, losing to more experienced teams like Cloud9 and Team Liquid, there is hope and excitement among fans. The roster consists of young players, including Sniper and Meech, who made their LCS debuts this split. Their progress throughout the season has shown tremendous potential. Now, 100 Thieves can harness this success and focus on surpassing the barrier of playoff competition, ultimately aiming to secure a championship and qualify for the 2024 World Championship.
