Crocs, the shoewear company, sponsors 100T as a result of LoL pro’s on-stage fine

100 Thieves’ League of Legends Top-Laner Fined for Wearing Crocs

Last week, Rayan “Sniper” Shoura, the top-laner for 100 Thieves’ League of Legends team, was fined $5,000 by Riot Games for wearing Crocs during the LCS Spring Split. However, in an unexpected twist, the shoe company has decided to pay the fine and partner with the team.

Rivalry and Fines in the LCS

The rivalry between LCS teams is always intense and exciting to watch, but off-stage shenanigans are rare. However, after 100T’s match against Shopify Rebellion in the final Spring Split super week on March 9, Riot Games fined Sniper for violating the LCS 2024 uniform policy by wearing open-toed Crocs.

Crocs Steps In

Fortunately for Sniper, Crocs, the shoewear company, has seized the opportunity to capitalize on the drama. They have not only paid the $5,000 fine but have also become a partnered sponsor for 100 Thieves. Although the details of the partnership are currently unknown, the team has already started promoting Crocs and even held a Crocs giveaway on their social media channels.

A Familiar Incident

This is not the first time a League player has faced a Croc-ban incident. In a 2022 Worlds match against LOUD, Joseph “Jojopyun” Pyun was also banned for wearing his Crocs on stage, despite believing that he had permission to do so. Unfortunately, no partnership emerged between Crocs, Jojopyun, and his former team, Evil Geniuses.

Will this be the last time we see Crocs on the professional League stage? Probably not. But it certainly adds some excitement to the upcoming LCS playoffs.
