dupreeh Joins Falcons Full-Time, Ending s1mple Rumors
Rumors surrounding the potential addition of CS:GO great s1mple to the Falcons roster were put to rest on March 26. Falcons confirmed that dupreeh has officially joined the squad via a post on X (formerly Twitter). With this move, the five-time Major champion reunites with former coach zonic and ex-teammate Magisk from their Astralis days.
Partnership with dupreeh Extends to 2025
Falcons provided more details about the signing in their official statement. The statement revealed that the partnership with dupreeh is committed until 2025 and includes a clause for mutual termination if expectations are not met. Dupreeh expressed his excitement to be reunited with familiar faces and expressed gratitude to his teammates at Preasy. He also acknowledged the disappointment of missing out on the Major and appreciated the opportunity to try and qualify with the Preasy team.
dupreeh’s Journey from Vitality to Falcons
Dupreeh, who had participated in all 19 CS:GO Majors, was benched by Vitality after their victory at the BLAST Paris Major and their appearance in the grand final of the BLAST Premier Spring Final in June 2023. His replacement in Vitality was Israel’s Shahar “flameZ” Shushan, a decision made by zonic, who was then Vitality’s coach. Zonic described it as one of the toughest decisions in his career.
After four months on the sidelines, dupreeh joined Preasy Esport in an attempt to qualify for the Copenhagen Major, which was being held in his home country. Unfortunately, the team fell short against Guild Eagles, ending dupreeh’s Major streak. Falcons also struggled, managing to secure only one win during their 1-3 run in the European RMR.
Looking Ahead to ESL Pro League Season 19 in Malta
Falcons now have a month to prepare for their appearance in Malta for ESL Pro League Season 19. With the addition of dupreeh to their roster, expectations are high for the team to perform well and bounce back from their disappointing attempt to qualify for the PGL Major.
