Black Ops 6 campaign includes casino heists, significant choices, and more

Exploring the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 campaign

Fans were treated to a thorough deep-dive into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 following the Xbox showcase at Summer Game Fest, including lifting the lid on what looks to be a dramatic campaign. Though multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies will consume the majority of gamers’ time in Black Ops 6, Treyarch plans to make a mark with the campaign—and it appears they will achieve just that.

The CoD Direct at Summer Game Fest gave fans a first look into the Black Ops 6 campaign, set in the 1990s after the events of Black Ops: Cold War, in a “mind-binding story where you’re never sure who to trust,” according to the CoD blog.

The campaign video featured the return of a familiar figure, Russell Adler, as well as the range of tasks available to players—each of which offers unique approaches to achieving your goal. One mission involves a daring casino heist, while another involves a raid on an Iraqi palace, but how you get there and the experiences you have may vary according on the choices you do as part of branched narrative.

Operatives will “negotiate, barter, and manipulate” their way to an ending that may be “drastically different and depends on the decisions you previously made,” but we will have to wait to find out what that involves.

The campaign will feature new and popular Black Ops items, such as the iconic RC-XD, a Tranquilizer Trap, an Adrenaline Stim for “violent takedowns,” Homing Knives, and the Disruptor Weapon. Players will find further exploration and character development in the Manor, the base of operations between each campaign task, which includes a target range, hidden treasures, and other features.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25 and, for the first time, will be included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription on day one.
