Arcane will be brought to life with ‘immersive experience’ in China next year

Riot Games China is pursuing an ambitious initiative to turn the animated series Arcane into an immersive live event. Riot said today that this event, set to take place at the Shanghai Hotel in 2025, will bring the lively worlds of Piltover and Zaun to life.

The next immersive performance bringing Arcane to life promises a “unique” live experience for League of Legends players, with a premiere date scheduled for next year. Fans will be able to journey into the dynamic worlds of Piltover and Zaun by entering the Shanghai Hotel, where they may encounter beloved characters such as Vi, Jinx, and Caitlyn, as well as Jayce, Viktor, Heimerdinger, and more.

Although particular specifics are being kept under wraps, Riot says the production will represent the Arcane characters’ strong tales and dynamics, which have captivated millions of fans worldwide.

The experience seeks to blur the barriers between fiction and reality through “surprising and thrilling” live performances, which may even interact with the audience at times. This ambitious concept will allow participants to fully immerse themselves in the Arcane universe, becoming a part of the plot and having what Riot calls a “unique” live experience.

This forthcoming endeavor could be inspired by Riot’s previous event, Arcane: Enter the Undercity, which allowed fans to explore the streets of Zaun in celebration of the program is first season.

Riot revealed that the casting process for the performance is already underway, with Tencent Video collaborating with SMG Live and Wajijiwa Entertainment on talent selection. Punchdrunk, the immersive theater company known for its award-winning show Sleep No More, which took place at the Shanghai Hotel, is also involved in the project.

Riot is already thinking about the future of its first animated series as fans wait for the second season of Arcane, which will premiere in November. And, while the show will soon end, Riot is ensuring that Arcane’s legacy lives on by bringing the characters and places of Piltover and Zaun to our world, not just our hearts.
