Zellsis demonstrates exceptional leadership in Sentinels’ communication throughout VALORANT Masters Madrid tournament.

The Impact of Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro on Sentinels

From being a sixth man to a bundle salesman to becoming the vocal leader of a Masters-winning VALORANT roster, Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro has had an exceptional start to the 2024 season. However, his value to Sentinels goes beyond his in-game prowess.

The Importance of Communication

In Sentinels’ recent comms video, part of the unSENsored series, Zellsis is seen making important calls and keeping the team’s mental state strong. With over 40 minutes of in-game comms between the players and coaches, Zellsis proves to be a crucial communicator for the team.

Elevating the Team’s Performance

Zellsis’s calls range from small but significant reminders to bringing team spirits up during critical moments. He ensures that his teammates avoid lining up in unfavorable scenarios, calms the team down when the callouts become frantic, and motivates players like Sacy or TenZ to bring energy to the game. His ability to provide specific instructions and hype up his teammates individually sets him apart as a valuable asset.

Recognized Leadership

Sentinels coach Kaplan has praised Zellsis for his role in boosting the team’s morale when it’s needed the most. Kaplan acknowledges that Zellsis holds everyone accountable and isn’t afraid to call out individuals or the entire team on areas that need improvement. He also emphasizes Zellsis’s talent for maintaining a positive team atmosphere and bringing anyone back on track when they start to slip. According to Kaplan, Sentinels owes a significant part of their success to Zellsis.

Zellsis and Sentinels will be back in action at VCT Americas on April 7, where they will face off against 100 Thieves.
