Unusual VALORANT Glitch Revives Clove without Using Ultimate Abilities

Clove, the character from the game VALORANT, has a formidable ultimate ability called Not Dead Yet. However, there is a strange interaction with Killjoy’s Lockdown that seems to nullify the condition of needing to secure a kill or damaging assist to stay alive.  This provides Clove with an unfair advantage in some circumstances.

Bug in Clove’s Ultimate

This problem is demonstrated in a clip posted on Reddit. If Clove activates Not Dead Yet and is detained by Killjoy’s ultimate at the same time, they will no longer need to meet the kill/damage criterion to survive. This is a serious bug that needs Riot’s attention.

An Unusual Voiceline

Furthermore, instead of the customary voice lines, when Clove escapes their end alive, they merely say, “That was weird.” The bug misidentifies Clove caught in Killjoy’s ultimate as Sage’s Resurrection, resulting in the incorrect audio line being played.

  • “I am back for good!”
  • “That was so close!”
  • “Think I will stay!”

Interaction Replication

To reproduce this problem, Clove’s ultimate must be used exactly when Killjoy’s Lockdown is engaged. This interaction is situational and difficult to take advantage of in ranked VALORANT games.

Other ultimate mechanics

It is crucial to note that this issue is not the same as the mechanic that allows Clove to avoid Killjoy’s ultimate with Not Dead Yet’s dismiss animation. To survive, the latter must still do damage or obtain a kill. Clove’s ultimate has various distinct interactions in VALORANT, such as the ability to trigger it when suppressed by KAY/O but not while in Iso’s ultimate.

Although Riot has not recognized this error yet, we expect the developer to address it in the near future to keep the game balanced.
