VALORANT Patch 8.10 is here, but unfortunately, there’s not much to get excited about in this update. Unless you’re a new player looking to dive into the world of VALORANT for the first time, that is.
The main focus of Patch 8.10 is the revamp of the Welcome Contract, now known as Basic Training. This update aims to better prepare new players before they venture into the complex and competitive realm of Ranked VALORANT. With clearer missions and milestones, the Basic Training event provides more guidance and structure for newcomers on their journey to climbing the ranked ladder.
One of the significant changes in the Welcome Contract is that the Basic Training event now resembles other events in the game. This means that players can track their progress and keep an eye on the rewards they earn. However, if you have already completed the Welcome Contract, you won’t see the Basic Training event. Rest assured, though, as new players won’t receive any additional rewards for their efforts.
Changes made to the Welcome Contract in Patch 8.10
- The new structure includes clearer missions and milestones to guide new players through the New Player Experience before their Ranked climb.
- The Basic Training Event is now similar to other Events, allowing players to track their progress, understand their goals at each milestone, and earn rewards to kickstart their VALORANT experience.
- If you have previously completed the Welcome Contract, you won’t see the Basic Training Event. If you have partially completed the Welcome Contract, your previously earned rewards will be reflected in the Basic Training Event, and you can continue progressing through Basic Training while earning XP toward your Battlepass.
Bug fixes in VALORANT Patch 8.10
- Previously, shots fired immediately after exiting Cypher’s Spycam would bypass the weapon’s raise animation and not deal any damage. This bug has been fixed, and the weapon raise animation now plays for its full duration.
- There were instances where the timer for Clove’s Pick-Me-Up ability could be restarted, allowing Clove to have more time than intended to activate the ability. This issue has also been resolved in this update.
That’s all there is to know about VALORANT Patch 8.10. It may not be a groundbreaking update, but the revamp of the Welcome Contract and the bug fixes are certainly steps in the right direction.
