Understanding How Iso’s Ultimate, Kill Contract, Works in VALORANT

Riot Games Reveals New VALORANT Agent: Iso

The VALORANT community is buzzing with excitement following the latest reveal from Riot Games of the game’s newest agent, Iso.

Iso’s Ultimate Ability: Kill Contract

Iso, the Chinese fixer-for-hire, brings a unique ability to the table that sets him apart from other agents. His ultimate ability, Kill Contract, forces one enemy player into a one-on-one arena for a battle to the death.

Kill Contract is the ultimate way for players to prove their dominance as they challenge an opponent to a pure test of aiming skill. It removes any distractions from teammates or other abilities, allowing the first person to hit their shot to emerge victorious.

There are a few special aspects to this ultimate ability that both Iso players and their foes need to know in order to survive when it’s launched on October 31.

What does Iso’s ultimate, Kill Contract, do?

When Iso activates his ultimate ability, he holds an interdimensional arena that he can throw across the battlefield like a projectile. The ability sends a column of energy through terrain and walls, similar to Fade’s ultimate ability, Nightfall. The range is slightly narrower than Fade’s ultimate, but still significant.

Iso pulls the first enemy hit by the energy wave into the arena, where they will face off against each other in a one-on-one fight. Inside the arena, there are only Iso, the opposing player, and three temporary walls that are indestructible.

At the start of the one-on-one, Iso has two walls in front of him, while the opposing player is hidden behind a single wall. If neither player peeks out from behind the walls, the walls disappear after a few seconds to allow for a quick duel.

Iso has the advantage in this one-on-one since the enemy won’t know which wall he’s behind. However, the duel is primarily based on aim. The ultimate ability lasts for 50 seconds, and if neither player dies during that time, both players will die when the ultimate expires.

What can you use in Iso’s ultimate?

During the arena phase of Iso’s ultimate, players can only use the weapons they had at the time of casting. For example, Iso can use this ability to his advantage during an enemy save round when they have weaker weapons.

Additionally, Iso’s Double Tap ability can carry over into the arena. If he activates this ability before launching his ultimate, he can block one shot from his enemy during the one-on-one, giving himself a significant advantage. If Iso kills his opponent, he can also grab a charge of Double Tap from the fallen foe before respawning on the battlefield.

No abilities can be cast in the arena, and if an agent is caught by Kill Contract while using their ultimate ability, it will be canceled, and they will have to fight with the weapon they had on hand.

If a player has limited health and is hit with Iso’s ultimate, they and Iso will spawn in the arena with full health and shields.

What happens after Iso’s ultimate finishes?

When Kill Contract comes to an end, the surviving player will reappear in the exact spot they were in when the ultimate started. They will also respawn on the map with the same amount of health and shields they had before the one-on-one, regardless of whether they were untouched or on the brink of death.

It’s essential for Iso players to communicate with their teammates when using their ultimate so they can be aware of any enemies waiting for their return and avoid getting ambushed.
