Sage and Deadlock duo uncover clever Lotus strategy to outwit VALORANT rivals

VALORANT: A New Trick for Gaining an Advantage on Lotus’ B Site

Gaining a competitive edge in VALORANT can make all the difference in a match. And now, there’s a new tactic that can give you the advantage you need on Lotus’ B Site. By using a simple Deadlock-Sage combo, you can secure free kills on the enemy team when they dare to step into the tight confines of B Site.

A Sneaky Peek at the B Site on Lotus

A player named Ninjablackberry3 recently shared a video on Reddit, demonstrating a clever way to peek at a crucial spot on the B Site. By utilizing the height boosts offered by their barriers, Deadlock and Sage can allow Deadlock to peek through the hole on top of A Link and see a section of the B Site entrance.

To execute this tactic, Deadlock should stand in the corner below the hole, while Sage angles her wall at the same corner. This will help Deadlock reach near the cavity. Then, Deadlock can place her Barrier Mesh under her to boost herself up further and gain visibility through the hole to shoot enemies.

By using a weapon with a sound suppressor, like the Phantom, you can shoot without revealing your position. This can make it difficult for your enemies to locate you. Previously, only Jett could take advantage of this window with her Updraft ability and secure kills with her Bladestorm knives.

A Trick With Limited Success

It’s important to note that this tactic may not be successful multiple times, as enemies will eventually become aware of your position. This strategy is most effective when both Deadlock and Sage are on your team, but it may not be the best choice in VALORANT’s current meta.

Despite its flaws, Ninjablackberry3’s trick has been praised by other players as a “cool discovery.” It brings to mind the infamous “Fnatic Manager Here, Please Delete This” meme, which originated from Fnatic’s CS:GO team using an unknown wall boost on the Overpass map to gain an unfair advantage in 2014.

Considerations and Conclusion

While the Deadlock-Sage boost is unlikely to be patched by Riot Games, it is a unique trick that cannot be replicated by any other agent combo. Using it in your competitive games can be exciting and lead to round-winning kills, but if it fails, you’ll be left without the Barrier Orb or Barrier Mesh for the rest of the round, which are valuable utilities in a VALORANT match.

However, if you find yourself struggling to retake Lotus’ B Site and have the necessary agents to execute this trick, it may be worth trying to surprise your enemies with Deadlock and Sage’s sneaky barrier setup.
