TwitchCon Expands to Exciting New Venues for 2023

TwitchCon 2023: New Locations Revealed for Annual Convention

Twitch has announced the details for its upcoming annual convention set to take place this summer and fall. In an exciting twist, the in-person events in Europe and the U.S. will be held in completely new locations for the first time since 2019.

Changes due to COVID-19

Traditionally, Twitch holds two weekend-long TwitchCon events each year, one in the U.S. and another in Europe. However, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted plans for TwitchCon in 2020 and 2021. Fortunately, the in-person events made a comeback last year, and this year they will be hosted in brand new cities.

New Host Cities

TwitchCon Paris will serve as the platform’s showcase event in Europe and will take place at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from July 8 to 9. On the other hand, TwitchCon Las Vegas, known for its larger scale event and Twitch CEO Emmett Shear’s annual keynote speech, will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from October 20 to 22.

Growing in Europe

This year’s TwitchCon Paris represents the third in-person European TwitchCon. After the cancellation of the 2020 event in Amsterdam due to the pandemic, last year’s event successfully took place in the same location. The inaugural European TwitchCon was held at CityCube Berlin in 2019.

A Shift in Venue

TwitchCon Las Vegas will mark a significant change as it will be the first time the main event takes place outside of California, where Twitch’s business is headquartered. Since 2019, the event has been consistently held at the San Diego Convention Center. However, TwitchCon has also made appearances in San Jose, Long Beach, and San Francisco throughout its history.

The schedules for both TwitchCon events have not been released yet. However, Twitch has provided accommodation reservation links on their blog post for fans and streamers to make necessary arrangements for the respective weekends.
