Riot Games Partners with GRID to Release New Data Portal for Competitive Teams
Riot Games, the developers of VALORANT, have joined forces with B2B software company GRID to introduce a new data portal for competitive teams. This partnership will also potentially bring a match replay system to the game, as stated in a recent press release.
The newly launched data portal provides competitive teams with access to detailed data from official esports matches, including their own scrims. In addition, teams can download match replay files through the portal, as shown in GRID’s graphic.
Initially, the portal is being rolled out to all 30 partnered VCT teams worldwide. This allows teams to gain deeper insights into their performance without relying on other services or manual checks.
However, Riot Games plans to make the portal available to the wider VALORANT player base at a later date. This means players might have access to statistical knowledge of their own games and the ability to watch back their demos.
John Knaus, the lead of competitive data programs for esports at Riot Games, expressed excitement about the partnership with GRID and the future of esports data for the VALORANT Champions Tour. He mentioned that the VALORANT Data Portal is just the beginning of their shared vision to make official VALORANT data more accessible to all, starting with professional teams.
The VALORANT community has been eagerly anticipating a replay system, and Anna Donlon, the lead of VALORANT, confirmed that it is currently in development. However, it appears that professional players may have early access to the replay system through the third-party GRID portal.
This officially sponsored portal by Riot Games is not considered a bannable third-party tool, ensuring its legitimacy within the VALORANT community.
