Twitch Raises Subscription Prices in 30+ Countries, Including US, Germany, and Others

Twitch Subscription Prices Increase.

Prices are rising again, this time on one of the world’s largest streaming platforms. Twitch is raising subscription costs in more than 30 countries, the company revealed today.

Impacted Countries and Staggering Rate Increase

On July 11, the streaming behemoth will raise subscription costs in numerous locations, much to the displeasure of viewers throughout the world. Countries such as the U.S., Australia, Germany, France, New Zealand, and many more in Europe and South America have been affected by the changes Twitch announced today.

For example, American Twitch fans will soon have to pay an extra dollar for a tier-one membership to their favorite streamers, up from $4.99 to $5.99. Multiple other nations will see similar price hikes for their own memberships, with the majority of European countries seeing a one-euro increase in their overall subscription prices.

Unexpected Effects: Gains and Losses

The company has confirmed, though, that content creators on the platform will be making more money as a result of these changes, which has surprised many fans and streamers. This, however, is another move that may drive individuals away from subscribing to their favorite content.

Twitch’s different systems and procedures have undergone several modifications over the years, many of which have sparked controversy and misunderstanding among the general public and the site’s fan base. This upcoming price increase has brought forth fresh discussions on possible new subscriber benefits that could come alongside the change, but Twitch has not responded to such requests just yet.
