Reportedly, employees of Man United express anger towards IShowSpeed’s invitation to FA Cup party.

Manchester United celebrates their FA Cup win with a Controversial Afterparty

On May 25th, Manchester United shocked the soccer world by defeating rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup. The success was celebrated with an afterparty, however it appears that not all club members were invited. The club’s workers apparently expressed their displeasure at being excluded, and popular content maker IShowSpeed was among the attendees.

IShowSpeed’s Instagram post has sparked Controversy

IShowSpeed shared a photo from the party on Instagram, revealing that the event took place at the Marriott Hotel in Mayfair on May 25th. He is pictured posing with Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. According to Mail Online, IShowSpeed was a guest of the players, which added to the staff’s discontent.

The report reads, “In the latest example of escalating anger among United’s employees, sources said staff felt upset at the presence of the 19-year-old who was spotted partying with United’s stars while they were unable to celebrate the victory at Wembley because they were not invited.”

Comparing Dortmund’s gesture to Man United’s Controversy

In stark contrast, German club Borussia Dortmund is demonstrating its appreciation for its employees in a very different way. Dortmund has invited 519 employees to the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium, where they will meet another opponent. According to Marca via beinsports, they are covering not just their devoted staff’s accommodations but also their tickets and flights.

This striking comparison casts a poor light on Manchester United’s handling of its employees. According to the story, the club “axed its [workers’] regular amenities for the cup final, which included a free ticket, travel, meals, and a post-match party.”

The FA Cup final, which took place at Wembley Stadium, ended with an afterparty the same evening. It is not surprising that IShowSpeed joined the celebration, given that he is not only one of the most popular broadcasters and content makers right now, but also a die-hard Manchester United fan.

While it is usual practice to invite well-known guests to functions, the club’s exclusion of its own employees has aroused outrage and highlighted concerns about employee treatment.

As the soccer world continues to see different clubs’ approaches to honoring and rewarding their employees, Manchester United finds itself in hot water. The impact from the afterparty event may have long-term consequences for the club and its relationship with its staff.
