HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud Elected as IESF President

HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud has been elected as the President of the International Esports Federation (IESF) during an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) in Busan, South Korea. He received 71 votes in favor, securing his presidential term until 2025.

Prince Faisal became the Acting President of the IESF on October 3, 2023, following the resignation of former President Vlad Marinescu. He has played a crucial role in the growth of eSports in Saudi Arabia and will contribute to the IESF’s mission of promoting sustainable and responsible gaming globally.

“I am honored to lead the International Esports Federation into a new era of collaboration, innovation, and global recognition,” Prince Faisal stated. “eSports has the ability to bring people from all over the world together through a shared love for gaming. Together, we will uphold the values of integrity, inclusivity, and fair play, ensuring that eSports continues to thrive as a dynamic and respected form of competition on the international stage. I am eager to work collaboratively to shape a vibrant and sustainable future for our industry.”

The Secretary General of the IESF, Boban Totovski, expressed excitement about Prince Faisal’s appointment, stating, “We are thrilled about this new chapter for the IESF. With our upcoming World Esports Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2024, there is no better person than Prince Faisal to lead our organization. His dedication to eSports is unparalleled, and we are looking forward to working together to achieve complete unity in the esports ecosystem.”

The IESF is concluding an eventful year with the World Esports Summit, scheduled for November 28 and 29 in Busan, South Korea. Prince Faisal will participate in a panel discussion providing a glimpse behind the scenes of hosting the world’s largest eSports events.
