The 2022 LEC Showcases the Most Youthful Competitors.

The end of the year is almost here, and that means the new LEC season is just around the corner. The teams have unveiled their new rosters, and there have been some surprising changes.

One trend that stands out for the upcoming season is Europe’s focus on young talent. All teams have decided to bet on players who are no older than 19. Misfits has the youngest roster with the lowest average age, but Vitality, BDS, and Astralis have also chosen to invest in young and promising players.

Meet the Youngest Players in the LEC:

DAJOR

  • Age: 18
  • Team: Astralis

Oliver “Dajor” Ryppa is a talented mid laner who recently joined Astralis. Despite having less than a year of professional experience, he impressed everyone at the EU Masters, finishing in second place after defeating strong teams like Movistar Riders and Misfits Premier.

NUCLEARINT

  • Team: Team BDS

Ilias “NUCLEARINT” Bizriken made his LEC debut with Schalke 04 last split and has now joined Team BDS. He will be replacing Abbedagge, who moved to 100 Thieves. Despite his young age, NUCLEARINT already has international experience, having qualified for Worlds with Schalke 04.

VETHEO

Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié is a 19-year-old mid laner who will be leading the Misfits roster in the 2022 LEC season. He had an outstanding performance during the last Summer Split, with the highest KDA among LEC mid laners and a high kill participation rate.

MARKOON

Mark “Markoon” van Woensel is one of the youngest junglers in the LEC. He has made a name for himself in the Spanish league and joined EXCEL’s academy roster in December 2020 before transitioning to the main team.

LABROV

Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis is a talented support player and one of the longest-standing members of Vitality’s roster. He started his professional career at the age of 15 and has played in various national leagues. Labrov joins an exciting Vitality roster for the 2022 season.

CARZZY

Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság is the new ADC for Vitality. Despite his young age, he has already competed on the international stage, qualifying for Worlds with MAD Lions. Carzzy has been playing League since Season Two and has a wealth of experience.

ADAM

  • Team: BDS

Adam Maanane, known as “Le Petit Prince,” is an aggressive top laner who recently joined Team BDS. He had a remarkable performance with Fnatic last Summer Split, helping the team secure a spot at Worlds.

MERSA

Mertai “Mersa” Sari is a talented support player who recently joined Misfits. Before joining Misfits, he played for gamersOrigin and ŠAIM SE SuppUp. Mersa completes the youngest LEC roster of 2022 alongside HiRit, Shlatan, Vetheo, and Neon.
