Riot reaches limit with player requests for old features

Riot Games Upset with Requests to Bring Back Old Features

Players of League of Legends who have been requesting the return of old features may not be receiving a warm response from Riot Games. The company’s game designers are expressing disappointment in the lack of inspiring requests, urging players to think bigger when suggesting changes to the popular game.

The Back and Forth Between Riot and Fans

Riot Games senior writer Ryan “Cactus” Rigney took to Reddit to address the issue, stating that while the company does listen to the community, players need to go beyond asking for the return of old features. Ben “Draggles” Forbes, another Riot employee, echoed this sentiment on Twitter, urging players to come up with more big picture requests.

The Community Responds

While Riot is frustrated with the repetitive requests, players argue that they continue to ask for old features because they believe these changes would improve the game. However, players maintain that they do offer a variety of ideas beyond old features, such as improvements to the early game learning experience and new item suggestions.

Finding a Middle Ground

Ultimately, both Riot Games and the community share some responsibility in the ongoing issue. Riot should be more transparent regarding their standards for new ideas, while players should also consider the limited usefulness of certain old features, such as spectating high elo players and the death recap.

Despite the tensions, the communication between Riot Games and the player community is likely to continue as both sides navigate towards a resolution.
