Riot is testing AP Kog’Maw buffs on League’s PBE trial

Riot Buffing Kog’Maw to Improve His Position in League of Legends

Kog’Maw, often overshadowed by other champions in League of Legends, is set to receive a significant buff in the next patch. Riot Games aims to enhance the performance of this mucus-spewing space puppy.

Although Kog’Maw has a solid win rate in solo queue, his pick rate is embarrassingly low, accounting for only 1.34 percent of games played in the ADC position. In comparison, Ezreal currently boasts a massive 45 percent pick rate in Patch 10.12.

To rectify this discrepancy, Riot is focusing on Kog’Maw’s ability power values and plans to improve his Caustic Spittle (Q) and Living Artillery (R) abilities. These balance changes are experimental, but there is a possibility that they will be implemented in the live servers.

Kog'Maw Buff

Riot intends to increase Kog’Maw’s Q AP ratio from 50 to 70 percent and his ultimate AP ratio from 25 to 35 percent. If these changes are finalized and implemented, AP Kog’Maw is likely to become a viable choice in the bot lane and may even become a meta champion in Patch 10.13.

Kog'Maw vs Ezreal

It remains uncertain how Kog’Maw will fare against popular picks like Ezreal, Varus, and Aphelios. However, his high damage output could potentially place him in contention with these champions.

Patch 10.13 of League of Legends is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, June 24. A preview for the patch is expected to be released soon.
