Report: Bjergsen’s Departure from Team Liquid

LCS Superstar Bjergsen Set to Become a Free Agent for 2023

After only one year with Team Liquid, LCS superstar Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg is leaving the team and becoming a free agent for 2023, according to reports. The 26-year-old veteran is currently considering offers from both the LCS and LEC.

This decision follows a disappointing 2022 season for Liquid, where they failed to secure any LCS championships and missed out on representing North America at the 2022 World Championship.

Before the start of the year, Bjergsen was expected to be a key player for Liquid, who had acquired several other European stars to form a star-studded superteam. However, issues with synergy and coordination on Summoner’s Rift hindered their success.

Despite his team’s struggles, Bjergsen had a strong individual performance. He tied EG’s star support, Vulcan, for the highest KDA in the league and ranked seventh in kills during the 2022 Summer Split, participating in over 69 percent of his team’s total kills.

If Bjergsen decides to switch teams, it would be the fifth team he has played for in his career and the third since moving to NA. Previously, he was the front-facing leader of TSM before retiring as a player after their disappointing performance at Worlds 2020 and transitioning to the role of head coach.
