Rekkles showcases MVP status in Fnatic’s dominant win against G2

Fnatic Secures EU LCS Victory by Defeating G2 Esports

Fnatic emerged victorious in the EU LCS for the first time since 2015. They dominated G2 Esports in a three-game series, establishing their dominance in the region.

The Strength of Fnatic

G2 Esports had an impressive run as four-time defending champions, but a roster shuffle in the offseason had them facing a different team this year. However, even if G2 had kept their previous roster, it may not have made a difference against Fnatic’s exceptional gameplay.

The Rise of Caps

Fnatic’s mid laner, Caps, has come into his own this year. Previously called “Baby Faker,” he faced criticism due to mechanical errors and Fnatic’s inability to play around mid lane. But this year, Caps has proven himself as a key player. Fnatic has learned to play around him more effectively, and he has become a dominant force in the mid lane.

Against G2’s Perkz, Caps took risks by playing Karma, a champion with lower damage potential. However, his performance was impressive enough to make Perkz choose Karma in the second game. Caps then showcased his skills with a pocket pick, Zoe, and delivered a never-before-seen performance in front of his home country crowd.

Rekkles Shines as Fnatic’s MVP

Fnatic’s ADC, Rekkles, deservedly won the MVP award before the match. He showcased his skills against G2, consistently punishing them in teamfights. In all three games, G2 opted to contest Baron to turn the game, only to be regretting it every time as Rekkles outplayed them.

Whether on his beloved Tristana or on Sivir in game two, Rekkles showcased his abilities with incredible performances, including two pentakills. G2’s macro strategy fell apart in game three as they were too hesitant to engage against Rekkles.

A Historic Victory for Fnatic

Whether G2 or Fnatic emerged victorious, the match was bound to be historic. G2 aimed to secure their fifth consecutive regional title, an incredible achievement. However, Fnatic had their sights set on making history as well and delivered a flawless performance.

Now, Fnatic will represent Europe at the MSI, where they hope to surpass G2’s finals performance from last year. If they succeed, they will make history once again.
