Epic Games Considering Gun Game Mode for Fortnite: Battle Royale
Epic Games and the Fortnite: Battle Royale community are constantly brainstorming new ideas to enhance the popular game. Recently, a Reddit user named Vapegodmasterman proposed the addition of a Gun Game mode for Fortnite.
In Gun Game mode, players start with the same weapon and earn new ones with each subsequent kill. However, dying will result in the player going back to the previous weapon. The objective is to secure the final kill with the final weapon to win the game.
EpicDustyDevo, a representative from Epic Games, confirmed in the Reddit thread that the developer is considering adding Gun Game as a limited time event.
“It’s on the list to try a progressive weapon load out LTM at some point,” said EpicDustyDevo. “We could bring in the storm early to keep everyone together and enable respawns so the game reliably ends when someone completes the weapon ladder. What do you guys think, starting with gold scar and ending with pistols, or vice versa? Both options have their own merits…”
The inclusion of respawns would be a major change for Fortnite, as the game currently only allows one life per match. Additionally, the decision to arrange the Gun Game weapon progression in ascending or descending order of gun quality would spark an interesting debate among players.
Either way, Epic Games is actively working on introducing new limited time modes, and a version of the classic Gun Game could be one of them.
