Players in League of Legends are falling victim to shopkeeper scam through a new bug in Wardstone.

The Watchful Wardstone has become a problem in League of Legends recently. The developers have been working hard to fix multiple exploits with the item in the past few months. However, summoners are now facing a new glitch that is causing them to lose gold and control wards.

In the Patch 13.10 bug thread on the League subreddit, numerous players have reported being scammed by the shopkeeper when attempting to buy the Watchful Wardstone in the later stages of the game, after purchasing multiple items.

According to players, when they try to buy the Wardstone with a full inventory, the shop not only deducts 1,100 gold from their account but also removes any control wards they have. However, they do not receive the item, resulting in a significant loss of gold and vision tools.

This glitch has also coincided with the temporary removal of the Wardstone from the game. Riot’s lead designer, Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, explained earlier today that the developers are addressing an exploit related to the item. Players are hopeful that this new bug will also be fixed before the re-release of the Wardstone on the live servers.

It is unclear what exact exploit is causing issues with the Wardstone, but the item has been associated with major cheats in the past. Previous exploits allowed users to repeatedly buy and sell the item for extra gold, enabling them to complete their builds much earlier than expected.

The developers will likely address all the issues with the item before the next patch goes live on Thursday, June 1.
