LEC’s final split of 2023 begins with playoff rematches

The LEC Summer Split Returns on June 17, 2023

Riot Games has officially confirmed that the LEC Summer Split will be returning on June 17, 2023. Fans can look forward to an exciting competition featuring top teams in the League of Legends community.

Match Highlights

The first day of the split will kick off with a match between Team Vitality and MAD Lions, the reigning champions. Additionally, fans can expect an intense showdown between G2 Esports and Team BDS, who came close to winning the title in the spring.

Schedule and Stakes

The Summer Split is more important than ever this year as it will determine which teams will move on to the World Championship, the pinnacle event of the year. The 10 LEC teams will battle it out in the regular season and group stage of the Summer Split, aiming to secure their spot in the roadshow that will bring the competition outside of Berlin.

Opening Week Matches

The excitement begins on June 17 with the opening day featuring matches between the top four teams from the Spring Split. Although fans will have to wait for later weeks to see a finals rematch, the defending champions, MAD Lions, will face tough opponents like Vitality, G2, and KOI in the first three days of the regular season.

Challenging the Rankings

Excel and Team Heretics, currently lower in the rankings, will have the opportunity to prove themselves in the EMEA competition. While Heretics showed glimpses of potential, Excel is yet to make a strong push for the title.

An Exciting Season Ahead

The first weekend of the 2023 LEC Summer Split promises thrilling matches between top-performing teams and opportunities for redemption for those who have yet to showcase their full potential. This season’s format changes remind fans that the battle for the crown is wide open, and no team can be underestimated.
