KT Rolster’s Support Mata Leaves Organization
Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong, the superstar support player for KT Rolster, is leaving the team to explore other offers from different organizations. After a two-year period with KT, Mata has decided to move on.
A Korean Dream Team
Mata joined KT in 2016 after playing for Royal Never Give Up, joining forces with Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu from EDward Gaming to form a Korean dream team. Their goal was simple – to win every championship they could.
A Bittersweet Journey
During their time together, KT Rolster had their ups and downs. However, they finally reached their potential during the 2018 Summer Split, winning their first LCK title. They went on to compete in Worlds as the top seed but were eliminated by Invictus Gaming in the quarterfinals, ending their journey to the Summoner’s Cup.
What’s Next for Mata?
Mata, a World Championship winner in 2014 with Samsung Galaxy White, is unlikely to stay a free agent for long. While he may join another LCK team for the 2019 season, he also has the opportunity to explore other regions such as the LPL, EU LCS, or NA LCS.
