Aatrox: The Funny Murder Machine
Riot’s official reveal of the World Ender, Aatrox, surprised us all. We expected a ruthless killer, but he turned out to be quite the comedian. Aatrox’s voiceover is filled with unexpected sass and witty remarks that add a humorous twist to his character.
One of Aatrox’s best new voiceover interactions is his response to an enemy flashing mastery: “Mastery? I must congratulate you because obviously your parents never had reason to.” It’s a personal attack that hits hard and leaves you feeling attacked.
He doesn’t hold back with other taunts either. When he taunts Varus, who is cursed with a Darkin but lacks a double A name like Aatrox or Rhaast, Aatrox playfully reminds him: “Varus. V-A-R-U-S. Your name should have an A and then another A, Varus. There was a memo, Varus. There was a memo.”
His interactions with other champions are just as entertaining. When encountering Kayn, who wields a scythe, Aatrox teases him, saying, “A scythe? A scythe?! Are you planning on murdering fields of wheat?” And when facing Gangplank armed with guns and oranges, Aatrox mocks: “Guns and oranges? Are you a cliché or a joke? Come! Fight! Die!”
