Immortals’ Disappointing Finish in League of Legends
Fan-favorite North American organization Immortals had a tough end to the year in the League of Legends scene. Despite their strong regular season performance and consecutive third place finishes, the team fell short of qualifying for Worlds through the gauntlet.
Cloud9 defeated Team Liquid 3-0, and then Immortals 3-1, fueling talks of roster changes. The current Immortals roster consists of:
- Top – Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon
- Jungle – Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin
- Mid – Eugene “Pobelter” Park
- ADC – Jason “WildTurtle” Tran
- Support – Adrian “Adrian” Ma
- Coach – Dylan Falco
The air cleared slightly when Immortals CEO Noah Whinston assured fans in a video message, stating, “these are problems we will address going forward.” He expressed his desire for the team next year to consist of players who choose to be a part of Immortals rather than feeling obligated.
As a result, Immortals will consider offers for all their players and handle them based on player feedback. While the offers will go through the organization, the players themselves will have the final say on whether they will return to Immortals.
Immortals’ commitment to being a “player first” organization is currently being tested, and they are staying true to their word. The organization plans to maintain a competitive League of Legends roster while also expanding into signing players for other esports titles.
Overall, Immortals aims to remain competitive but is now open to offers for their League of Legends roster.
