Former LCS Pro Achieves Rank One in Korea, Aiming for a Major Comeback

Former LCS Support Player Olleh Considers Comeback After Dominating Korean Solo Queue

Kim “Olleh” Joo-sung, who took a break from competitive League of Legends in 2022 for mandatory military service, may be making a comeback. The former Golden Guardians support player recently achieved the top ranking in the South Korean solo queue ladder, showcasing his exceptional skills. With an impressive 1,451 LP and a preference for champions like Rell, Alistar, and Nautilus, Olleh has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the highly competitive region, surpassing esteemed pro player Kim “Clid” Tae-min by a significant margin.

Known for its challenging playerbase, the Korean ladder is regarded as one of the most competitive in the world, overshadowing regions like North America.

Olleh’s Journey in the Pro Scene

Before his hiatus in 2022, Olleh had a successful career in the LCS. He initially gained recognition with Immortals in 2016 and later joined Team Liquid in 2017. Subsequently, he became a part of Golden Guardians in 2018, where he experienced fluctuations in his position within the starting roster over three seasons.

The Potential for Olleh’s Comeback

Although Olleh’s time with Golden Guardians didn’t yield the desired results, he demonstrated his capabilities as a skilled support player. Additionally, he served as a positional coach for Choi “huhi” Jae-hyun. While there hasn’t been official confirmation regarding his return, Olleh’s active presence in solo queue implies that he is open to offers. As the LCS and LCK seasons draw to a close ahead of Worlds 2023, Olleh’s experience and expertise could make him an invaluable asset for teams seeking a seasoned support player in 2024.

We eagerly anticipate the start of the offseason in November to see if Olleh will receive any offers.
