Faker intends to continue playing after winning his 4th World Championship

The esports community rejoices as T1’s Faker shows no signs of retirement

T1’s legendary midlaner, Lee “Faker” Sanghyeok, has put fans at ease by revealing that he currently has no intentions of retiring from professional esports. Despite boasting an impressive 10-year career, four Worlds titles, numerous LCK championship victories, and even a Gold Medal at the Asian Games, Faker is hungry for more success.

During the Worlds 2023 Finals Media Press Conference, when asked by a journalist about his retirement plans, Faker confidently stated that he would continue working with T1 as he is still under contract with the team.

While Faker did mention that he would consider retirement “at a later date,” he did not provide a specific timeline. Nonetheless, the mere thought of retirement crossing his mind surprised many fans.

Future plans and speculations

After securing his unprecedented fourth World Championship title in Korea, some fans may have expected Faker to step away from the competitive scene, especially considering T1’s remarkable success. However, it seems that the Unkillable Demon King has more in store.

One can’t help but wonder what Faker has his sights set on in the future. Could he be aiming for a golden run, conquering both LCK titles, MSI, and even capturing a fifth World Championship title?

Only time will tell what lies ahead for the mid-lane god, but his dedication and hunger for victory are evident.
