Airwaks under threat following Wolves’ playoff defeat

Copenhagen Wolves facing roster changes after successful LCS split

The Copenhagen Wolves have had their most successful split in the League Championship Series to date. Despite participating in every LCS relegation tournament since the league began, the team made it to the playoffs before losing to H2K Gaming.

However, one player may be on the chopping block after a lackluster split. According to sources close to the team, Karim “Airwaks” Benghalia may have played his last game in a Wolves uniform.

Airwaks’ performances during the regular season were underwhelming, with the second-lowest KDA, third-fewest kills, and the most deaths among all junglers in Europe. His only positive stat is his assists, where he ranks second only to Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen.

Many attribute the Wolves’ success to newcomer Ales “Freeze” Knezinek and the improvement of mid laner Soren “Soren” Frederikson. The team’s coach, Karl Krey, may be looking to strengthen the lineup elsewhere at the expense of Airwaks.

In May 2014, Airwaks joined Copenhagen Wolves as the replacement for Maurice “Amazing” Stuckenschneider. At the time, Airwaks was praised as an up-and-coming talent known for his unconventional picks.

The Wolves faced relegations and emerged as unlikely victors over H2K Gaming in the Summer Split of 2014. This split, although they ended the regular season with a losing record, they made it to the playoffs. However, Airwaks’ future in the LCS may be in jeopardy as the Wolves aim to strengthen their roster for the Summer Split.
