5 League of Legends Champions Set to Receive Nerfs in Patch 13.16 as Developers Reevaluate Naafiri Adjustments

League of Legends Balance Team Announces Nerfs for Newest Champion

The League of Legends balance team has announced nerfs for the newest champion, Naafiri. Along with four other champions, Naafiri will be receiving nerfs through Patch 13.16 changes after dominating the game.

Riot Games balance developer Raptorr initially stated that Naafiri’s nerfs would be paused after her win rate stabilized. However, lead designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison revealed on August 7 that Naafiri will indeed be receiving a negative change next week.

Naafiri quickly became a dominant force after her launch, causing her win rate to rise to 52.41% in the mid lane. Changes in Patch 13.15 solidified her position at the top of the tier list. Her time at the top is now coming to an end, with nerfs planned for her mid-game scaling and attack damage bonuses on her Eviscerate ability.

Shyvana is also on the chopping block for this update. Despite being one of the best Mythic scaling junglers, Shyvana hasn’t performed exceptionally well in Platinum and above. Rek’Sai, Tristana, and Shaco’s support build are among the other champions receiving nerfs.

The team is specifically targeting Duskblade of Draktharr, which has become a common pick on unintended champions like Illaoi and Aatrox. By nerfing Duskblade and buffing weaker assassin items, the team hopes to provide assassins with more options for item selection.

The exact details of the buffs and nerfs will be revealed before the official release of Patch 13.16 on Wednesday, August 16.
