Internet Vikings Achieves VMware Premier Partner Status

Internet Vikings, a leading hosting provider for the iGaming and sports betting sector, has now become a VMware Premier partner. This new status allows the company to offer clients protection against the financial impacts of the latest VMware licensing changes.

VMware, which is owned by Broadcom, recently announced the discontinuation of perpetual licenses and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Instead, they are shifting towards a subscription-based model. While this change introduces improvements in services like VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF), it can also increase costs for clients who require specific features. This licensing overhaul poses challenges across various sectors, including iGaming and sports betting.

To address the potential challenges faced by businesses, Internet Vikings is pleased to be selected as a VMware Premier partner. This new status allows the company to assist clients in transitioning smoothly, mitigating potential cost increases.

Internet Vikings will also provide a white label solution to partners who do not have direct access to VCSP (VMware Cloud Service Provider) licensing options through Broadcom. This ensures broad-based support and accessibility for all partners.

Kristoffer Ottosson, COO at Internet Vikings, states: “VMware’s shift to subscription licensing impacts the digital infrastructure within the iGaming and sports betting industry. As a VMware Premier partner, we are prepared to help our clients adapt by providing them with scalable and cost-effective solutions.”

“With our expertise and the benefits of the Premier Partner Program, we can help avoid any unnecessary expenses during the transition. This positions us as a reliable, long-term partner that stays ahead of the licensed iGaming and sports betting industry changes,” adds Rickard Vikström, CEO and Founder of Internet Vikings.

The partnership with VMware not only addresses the immediate cost impact of licensing changes, but it also highlights Internet Vikings’ commitment to providing client-centric solutions that meet the needs of its customers.
