This acquisition, the details of which are undisclosed, establishes a formal relationship between Playmob and Sphaira Innovation’s PlanetPlay division. PlanetPlay is focused on bringing together the gaming industry and players to combat climate change.

Jude Ower, CEO of Playmob, has now transitioned to the role of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Sphaira UK. She has been actively involved in PlanetPlay’s Make Green Tuesday Moves campaign, which aims to empower games studios and players to make a tangible impact on the environment.
Ower, in collaboration with PlanetPlay CEO Rhea Loucas, recently led a delegation from the gaming industry to the UN Development Programme’s Climate Promise event at the UN Headquarters in New York. This initiative is designed to assist countries in enhancing their efforts towards addressing climate change.

As a Co-Founder of the Playing For The Planet Alliance and Co-Author of the book ‘Gaming for Good: Unlocking the Power of Gaming to Create a Better World for Us All’, Ower is actively supporting green initiatives through PlanetPlay. She was instrumental in partnering with the UNDP for the ‘People’s Climate Vote’, a global survey of consumer perspectives on climate change conducted via Playmob’s insights platform.
Speaking at the UK Government’s GREAT FUTURES event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ower is exploring opportunities for collaboration between the UK video games industry and Saudi Arabia in domains such as gaming and sustainability. She is joined by Dirk van Daele, Chairman of Sphaira Innovation UK, at this event.
