Hisense Group Holdings Signs Sponsorship Deal with China’s King Pro League

Chinese multinational electronics manufacturer Hisense Group Holdings (Hisense) has announced a partnership with China’s top Honor of Kings competition – the King Pro League (KPL). This marks Hisense’s first foray into esports sponsorship.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

Hisense’s History of Global Sporting Event Sponsorships

Hisense, one of China’s leading home appliance brands, has a track record of sponsoring global football events since 2016. The company has sponsored the 2016 and 2020 UEFA European Championship, the 2018 Russia FIFA World Cup, and the upcoming 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup. Additionally, Hisense will serve as the official global partner of the 2024 Germany UEFA European Championship.

Expanding into Esports

While Hisense has shown great enthusiasm for football sponsorships, the recent partnership with the King Pro League represents the company’s first venture into esports. The King Pro League is a highly regarded competition in China.

TiMi Studios, the developer of Honor of Kings, has also demonstrated its commitment to growing the game’s esports scene on an international scale. The developer announced an investment of $15M USD in overseas markets to build an international esports ecosystem.
