G2’s success doesn’t stop with their League of Legends team, which secured the top seed from Europe at the World Championship this summer. With the acquisition of the highly successful Rocket League roster, G2 now boasts two top teams for the upcoming fall season.

Formerly known as Cosmic Aftershock, the team consisting of Kronovi, Randy “Gibbs” Gibbons, and Kais “Sadjunior” Zehri has now rebranded as G2 Esports. They are recognized as one of the first Rocket League teams to secure a major sponsorship from iBUYPOWER, leading to their name change to iBUYPOWER Cosmic in November 2015.

In their announcement, G2 stated their commitment to helping the team achieve their dream of being able to solely rely on player salaries and dedicate themselves full-time to the game. It remains to be seen if any roster changes will occur under the new organization.
