Players are enthralled by this powerful pistol in Helldivers 2 for obliterating Automatons

The Steeled Veterans Warbond, which launched alongside Helldivers 2, contained few weapons worthy of the arsenal of Democracy. Fans recently hailed the P-4 Senator, an Automaton-butchering firearm. The revolver, with its high stopping power and one-shot capabilities against powerful bots, proved to be a hidden gem in the game’s early Warbond.

The Senator can be seen in action in a May 30 Reddit thread, where a player masterfully maneuvers around the robots and through thick snow to deal devastating (wink, wink) damage. With a single shot, the revolver can easily defeat Berserkers, Devastators, and other Automaton adversaries. It can fire up to six times before needing to reload, but it is incredibly effective, thanks to a six-bullet speedloader that replenishes ammo instantly.

The players were also commended in the comments for their flashy moves, cowboy gunslinging, and exceptional marksmanship. Nonetheless, the Senator is the highlight of the ordeal because its stopping power enabled them to carry out such extraordinary moves in the first place.

On launch, the Senator was regarded as ordinary, particularly while weapons such as the Breaker were at their peak. During the game’s early days, there was no reason to select a sluggish six-shot revolver over anything else; now, with so many balancing updates (some good, some bad), even the Senator is now a viable option—and a nasty one at that.

Who knows which underdog or neglected weapons will take center stage next as Arrowhead tries to make the game more “balanced?” In Helldivers 2, the concept of “balance” is vague, as gamers never seem to be totally satisfied with any change to the game’s weapon lineup. The situation is so bad that Arrowhead’s CEO resigned and returned to development to spearhead remedies. Fans have suggested a variety of solutions, including weapon upgrades, to remedy the balancing issue, but the devs have yet to respond.
