Strategies to Defeat the Infinity Blade in Fortnite

Fortnite’s First Mythic Weapon: The Infinity Blade

The Infinity Blade, the first Mythic weapon in Fortnite: Battle Royale, is extremely powerful.

Players who obtain the Infinity Blade become a major threat. They can quickly gather materials by slashing buildings, gain 200 health and shield, move 30 percent faster, passively regenerate health, and have a leap ability that can destroy any structure in their path.

Countering the Infinity Blade is difficult. When a player holding the Blade jumps towards you, it’s nearly impossible to defeat them with normal weapons. However, there are a few ways to protect yourself from their attacks and eliminate them.

Balloons: A Useful Strategy

Balloons, introduced in Fortnite season seven, can be a lifesaver. Players can now shoot while floating with Balloons, which helps counter the limited range of the Infinity Blade. If you float high in the sky, the wielder of the Blade won’t be able to reach you easily. Additionally, their leap attack won’t cause 75 damage if you’re floating above the ground.

Take advantage of Balloons to float above your opponent and land headshots to defeat the wielder of the Infinity Blade.

Planes: Another Counter Strategy

Using planes to counter the Infinity Blade follows the same logic as using Balloons. By flying high in the sky, you become almost untouchable. Utilize the plane’s turret to deal damage or quickly switch seats and use another weapon to take down the wielder.

This strategy may be more challenging to execute compared to Balloons, as planes are faster and harder to control. However, it can be highly effective, especially against wielders with low health and shield.

Perfect Timing: The Risky Attempt

Although it’s a difficult move, it’s worth a try. If you are on the ground facing an opponent with the Infinity Blade, quickly build a wall. As soon as the opponent slashes it down, shoot them in the head with a Shotgun, then build another structure between you and the opponent. You can repeat this process, switching to your shotgun or another weapon each time, until you eliminate the opponent.

However, it’s more likely that the opponent will be too close to you for this strategy to work. Nonetheless, if you’re feeling lucky and inspired, it’s worth a shot.

If you want a consistent method to counter the Infinity Blade, find Balloons and hope for the best.
