NiP Adds 4 Players to Fortnite: Battle Royale Team

Popular esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas enters Fortnite esports with new roster

Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) has made its debut in the world of Fortnite: Battle Royale esports by signing four talented players.

The newest members of NiP are Dean “Cringe” Lawrence, Max “Goofy” Rosenlind, Patrik “Xited” Heiberg, and Anastasios “Yung” Timpanidis. These players will face high expectations from fans.

This multinational roster includes players from Denmark, Belgium, and NiP’s home country, Sweden. Unlike other teams, NiP’s lineup consists of two separate duos instead of a full four-person team. Cringe and Yung have competed together before, as have Goofy and Xited.

NiP has a strong track record in various games, particularly Counter-Strike. The team was dominant from 2012 to 2013, achieving an impressive 87-map win streak. Although NiP has faced challenges in recent years with a Major drought, fans and critics still expect great things from the Swedish powerhouse, and this is likely true for their venture into Fortnite as well.

NiP CEO Hicham Chahine expressed excitement about entering the Fortnite scene, saying, “We have been observing the phenomenon of Fortnite, eager to join the scene. We have been doing our research to understand the scene and find the best way to get involved. Signing four talented European players and supporting their growth is our first step in this exciting endeavor!”

Like many other teams, NiP recognized the rise of battle royale games in 2017, leading them to sign a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds team in October. Despite not achieving expected success in PUBG, NiP is not hesitant to explore other battle royale games.

With the addition of the Fortnite roster, NiP joins longtime European rivals Fnatic and Virtus Pro, who have also recently signed players.
