New hidden Fortnite bunker discovered following destruction of iceberg

Iceberg Melts, Reveals Mysterious Bunker in Fortnite

After Fortnite’s v7.20 update, an iceberg on a small island southwest of the Fortnite island completely melted away. However, instead of uncovering something exciting, the melting iceberg revealed a bunker that players are unable to open.

This mysterious bunker has sparked speculation among Fortnite players about its possible significance for the end of the season based on past events in the game.

A similar bunker appeared in season five, located north of Wailing Woods. Despite players’ attempts to break it open or enter it, they discovered that it was merely a hole. That bunker still exists, and now there is a new bunker in the southwest of the map with the same behavior. A player has even managed to get inside the bunker and found nothing but an empty space.

This suggests that developer Epic Games may have plans for these areas that will either be identical or connected in some way in the future. Since we’ve seen warps in Wailing Woods teleporting players around the area, it’s not unreasonable to think that Epic Games could do something similar with locations on opposite sides of the island.

Beyond these speculations, we don’t have many clues about the purpose of these bunkers. Reports indicate that the iceberg hiding the southwest bunker had a decreasing health bar as players from all Fortnite matches hit it. Although it appeared as passive health loss in an individual match, the game seemed to accumulate the damage dealt to the iceberg across servers and display it in every match.

This could possibly indicate that the bunker’s story may also involve player interaction across all servers simultaneously.

In the meantime, while we await more events in Fortnite’s season seven, we can only theorize about the meaning of this bunker. Perhaps Epic Games will provide new clues as the days and weeks progress, but for now, a bunker remains just a bunker.
