An image leak from Xbox has given fans a sneak peek at some of the new character skins coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale in its upcoming fifth season.
On Wednesday evening, Xbox updated its Fortnite: Battle Royale image, inadvertently revealing three new character skins. However, Xbox jumped the gun a bit as the fifth season doesn’t actually start until July 12 at 3am CT. The image was eventually taken down, but not before fans caught a glimpse of the new skins.
Three Unique Skins
The leaked image showcases three characters against a hot pink background. Each skin stands out with its own distinctive style. Most prominently displayed is a masked figure wearing a white, black, gold, and pink outfit. This character is holding a pink and white mask, hinting at the possibility of a new cosmetic item category. The mask was also featured in the Season Five teaser images.
A Modern Soldier and a Medieval Warrior
Next to the central figure, we see a modern-day soldier dressed in sand-colored fatigues. They complete their look with work gloves, a backward cap, and sunglasses, evoking the image of a contemporary American military unit.
The final character appears to be from a different time period altogether. This figure is donned in medieval armor, animal pelts, and blue face paint, suggesting a connection to a bygone era that is perhaps a thousand years old.
While details about these characters and the overall theme for Season Five are scarce, fans are abuzz with excitement over the potential new cosmetics and storylines that Fortnite: Battle Royale has in store.
