Increased Snowfall is Extending Across Additional Areas of the Fortnite: Battle Royale Island

Snow Coverage Expanding in Fortnite: Battle Royale

The Fortnite: Battle Royale island is slowly being covered in snow, according to a Reddit user.

Reddit user Burning Tooth recently shared an image showing a comparison between the season seven map when it first started and how it looks now. They noted that certain areas of the map are starting to be covered by snow, three weeks into the season.

Rate of Expansion Still Unknown

It is still uncertain how quickly the snow is expanding on the map. If Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, chose to incorporate the snow expansion as part of their holiday event, the 14 Days of Fortnite, it is possible that a larger portion of the map will become covered in snow in the coming days. So far, there have only been minimal changes.

The area between the second and third house in Snobby Shores, right above the “Y” in the area’s name, used to be grass but is now covered in snow. Additionally, the peak of the mountain to the east of that area has more snow on it. Similarly, following the snow line towards Tilted Towers, the small snow portion above the first “T” in the area’s name has also grown, while the towers remain unaffected.

The treeline between Shifty Shafts and Salty Springs, as well as the hill between Shifty Shafts and Fatal Fields, are now surrounded by more snow. The trees southwest of Fatal Fields are also covered in snow, unlike at the beginning of the season. There is also a barely noticeable expansion occurring north of Lucky Landing, moving towards the desert.

If this snow expansion has been ongoing since the start of the season, it is progressing at a relatively slow rate to cover the entire map by the end of the season. However, if it only began in the past few days, players may start to see more noticeable changes soon.

Some players in the Reddit thread also reported hearing snow in the mountain area south of Pleasant Park, suggesting that this area may soon be covered in snow as well.

Fortnite players should keep an eye on the changing weather conditions in the game.
