How Fortnite’s Infinity Blade Sword Works: A Guide

Fortnite Adds Mythic-Class Weapon: The Infinity Blade

In the latest 7.01 update, Epic Games has introduced the Infinity Blade to Fortnite: Battle Royale. This sword is the first of its kind, belonging to the Mythic-class of weapons. The announcement on social media created quite a buzz among players, and now it’s finally available in all standard game modes.

Powers and Special Abilities

Season four players may already be familiar with the name Infinity Blade, as it brings back memories of the special Marvel event with Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet. Similar to its inspiration, the Infinity Blade grants its user extraordinary powers.

Burden and Benefits of the Infinity Blade

Only one Infinity Blade can be found per match, which spawns at the Polar Peak. Once obtained, the holder’s health and shield are instantly set to 200, regardless of their previous values. However, picking up the Infinity Blade means relinquishing the entire inventory except for materials.

If the holder wishes to part ways with the Infinity Blade, they can drop it by picking up any non-material item from the floor. But with its incredible powers, it might be difficult to give up.

Combat Abilities and Strategy

The Infinity Blade deals 75 damage with its primary slash and can destroy any structure it hits. The secondary shot allows the player to leap towards an area, destroying anything in its path and dealing 25 damage to nearby enemies. Upon landing, it also knocks them up. Additionally, the user experiences a 130% movement speed boost and recovers 50 health points after eliminating an opponent. When low on health, the holder can leap away from the fight and regenerate one point of health and shield per second just by staying close to the Infinity Blade.

If a player defeats the holder of the Infinity Blade, they become its new owner and gain the same powers.

The Downside and Strategic Considerations

Although the Infinity Blade provides immense power, it also makes the holder a prime target for all opponents in the vicinity. However, it may prove more effective in the late game when there are fewer opponents, allowing the holder to engage in one-on-one fights.

Exploring the Infinity Blade’s Potential

Players will surely discover creative ways to wield the Infinity Blade, optimizing its capabilities. Currently, it seems to be a matter of getting up close to opponents with a leap and utilizing the primary fire to deal damage. The healing effect upon elimination encourages aggressive gameplay.

Following the server downtime for the 7.01 update, the Infinity Blade will be available in all standard Fortnite game modes.
