Fortnite 7.01 Patch Notes Unveil the Infinity Blade Sword

Fortnite’s Latest Update: Sword Infinity Blade and Creative Mode

The much-awaited 7.01 update for Fortnite has finally arrived, bringing exciting new features and improvements to the game. Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, has released patch notes describing the changes that players can expect.

Fortnite: Battle Royale enthusiasts will be delighted to hear that the Mythic melee weapon, the sword Infinity Blade, is making its way to the game. This powerful weapon can be found exclusively at Polar Peak. With its primary fire, players can deliver a devastating slash that deals 75 damage to opponents and instantly destroys structures. Additionally, the sword allows players to make a gigantic leap with its secondary fire, demolishing any structures in its path and inflicting 25 damage upon landing.

In addition to its destructive capabilities, the Infinity Blade grants its user numerous perks, including 200 health and shield, health regeneration over time, increased movement speed, and a burst heal of 50 points upon eliminating an opponent. This sword bears resemblance to the Infinity Gauntlet that was introduced in season 4, except it is available in standard game modes.

Introducing Fortnite Creative Mode

The latest update also introduces Fortnite Creative, a new sandbox mode that allows players to freely unleash their creativity. This mode is now accessible to all players for free.

Other Minor Changes

Apart from the Infinity Blade and Creative Mode, there are not many significant additions in this update. The Close Encounters Limited Time Mode has returned with some alterations, and now the X-4 Stormwing plane inflicts damage to its passengers upon explosion.

Unlike the previous season update, this version (7.01) does not include the weekly Battle Pass challenges. However, players can expect these challenges to resume on a weekly basis, usually on Thursdays, as was the case in season six.

This update marks the first significant game update since the launch of season seven last Thursday. The new season brought numerous map changes, vaulted weapons, and fresh cosmetic items in the Battle Pass. Players should note that Fortnite servers will be temporarily unavailable at 3 am CT for the 7.01 update deployment. Typically, they are back up within one to two hours after maintenance.
