Fortnite’s Top Hidden Secrets, Easter Eggs, and Quirky Trivia

Epic Games adds special Easter egg to Fortnite

Epic Games’ Fortnite: Battle Royale is not only an addictive game but also full of interesting secrets and trivia. From references to previous games like Unreal Tournament to hidden gameplay features, Fortnite is packed with Easter eggs. Here are some of the best secrets hiding in Fortnite’s world.

Fortnite’s greatest rescue mission

In version 5.1 of Fortnite, Epic decided to commemorate the game’s strangest rescue mission. While streaming Fortnite: Battle Royale solo, Mr Muselk encountered a stranded player named Chappadoodle at the bottom of a cliff. He attempted to rescue Chappadoodle by building an elaborate fort setup and bringing him back into the game. However, the rescue attempt failed. To honor this viral scene, Epic added a monument in the game, including a tombstone for Chappadoodle.

Before Fortnite became popular, Epic created the iconic Unreal Tournament series using the Unreal engine. In Fortnite, players can find pieces of Unreal’s legacy scattered throughout the game. One of the biggest Easter eggs is a screenshot of the “Facing Worlds” map from Unreal Tournament. This map was a popular capture-the-flag battleground set in a floating asteroid in space.

Goodbye, Tomato Head

In Season 5 of Fortnite, the mysterious rifts altered the game’s map, causing some items to go missing, including the Tomato Head from Tomato Town’s Uncle Pete’s Pizza Pit. Visiting Tomato Town reveals that Tomato Head is still gone, with a small “Goodbye” sign on the roof. Whether Tomato Head will return is uncertain, but fans speculate that a new mascot may replace him.

Dusty Divot, the popular forested crater in Fortnite’s map, was once known as Dusty Depot. In Season 4, a crater was created in Dusty Depot, changing the area significantly. Season 5 added a forest overgrowth to the crater. The name Dusty Divot stuck, but it could change in future seasons.

All-Terrain Kart drifting

Fortnite’s All-Terrain Kart allows players to drift, similar to the drifting and boosting system in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Drifting the Kart can give players a speed boost in two tiers, depending on the duration of the drift. This gameplay addition is a fun Easter egg and a nod to one of the best multiplayer games in the world.

The abandoned Battle Bus

In Fortnite, players can come across an abandoned Battle Bus. This Battle Bus, which crashed on its side with its parachute on the ground, can be found on a mountain near Shifty Shafts. It remains unclear how the Battle Bus crashed and what happened to its passengers, leading to questions about Fortnite’s lore within the Battle Royale world.

On the bright side, this Easter egg is a great spot to loot two chests and gather materials for building.
