Fortnite’s Latest Update: New Shotguns, Team Rumble Mode, and Mounted Turret Fixes in 6.31

Fortnite 6.31 Update: New Limited Time Mode and Pump Shotguns

The patch notes for Fortnite’s latest update, 6.31, have been released. This update introduces a new Limited Time Mode, as well as new Epic and Legendary Pump Shotguns. It also includes adjustments to the Mounted Turret and improvements in gameplay, audio, and performance.

Introducing Team Rumble

Team Rumble is the exciting new Limited Time Mode in Fortnite. It features two teams of 20 players, with respawns only five seconds after dying. The objective is to eliminate 100 opponents before the other team. It is speculated that Team Rumble is replacing the previous temporary mode, Wild West.

Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, has also made significant weapon adjustments with this patch.

Weapon Adjustments

The newly announced pump shotguns are now available in the game. The Epic variant deals 105 damage, while the Legendary variant deals 110 damage. These shotguns can be found as floor loot, in chests, Supply Drops, and Vending Machines.

Regular Pump Shotguns have also received an upgrade. The Common variant now has a maximum damage of 95, and the Uncommon variant has a maximum damage of 100. This is an increase from their previous damage amounts of 80 and 85, respectively.

In the 6.31 update, all shotguns will now deal a minimum damage of three pellets, even if only one or two hit the target. This bonus damage will never be critical. However, shotguns will have reduced damage to distant enemies in order to balance their increased damage.

The legendary trap, Mounted Turret, has also been adjusted for better balance. It is now easier to land shots on a player using the turret, and it is no longer possible to repair the turret. The drop rate of the trap has also been reduced by half, making it harder to find in the game.

Other Updates

The 6.31 update introduces a new functionality that allows players to place a marker on the map by simply looking at a position in the world. This eliminates the need to open the map to communicate with your teammates about your desired location while in Combat Mode.

A new competitive Fortnite mode called Alchemist Pop-Up Cup has also been added. In this mode, the material cap is set at 500, and the harvesting rate is increased by 40 percent. The significant change compared to previous Pop-Up Cups is that it encourages active gameplay and punishes passive players.

A Storm Surge mechanic has been implemented in the Alchemist Pop-Up Cup. It periodically deals damage to players who have dealt the least amount of damage in the match. This mechanic activates only if a storm circle starts closing with more than a set number of players alive. Once the maximum number of players alive is met, the Storm Surge stops.
