Thanks to Epic Games’ developer update on July 27, Fortnite players were already aware of the Guided Missile’s return to the game. The update highlighted the differences between the current launcher and the older version that was removed from the game in April.

Epic Games stated, “We’ve made several changes to the Guided Missile, positioning it more as a scouting tool rather than a high-damage threat. These changes include reduced movement speed and turning radius, as well as reduced damage and damage radius. Additionally, the ammo cap in default modes has been set to just 12 rockets.”

The in-game message also confirms that the Guided Missile has been rebalanced for scouting utility, bringing relief to players who previously had concerns about the launcher.

Epic Games typically teases new items as “coming soon” right before adding them to the game. Therefore, it’s likely that the Guided Missile could make its return to the world of Fortnite as early as tomorrow.
