Fortnite Players Doubt the Existence of Golden Ice Brutes
Many players of Fortnite: Battle Royale are skeptical about the existence of Golden Ice Brutes, considering them to be nothing more than a myth.
Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, recently introduced an Ice Storm challenge where players are tasked with eliminating 20 massive golden zombies known as Golden Ice Brutes. These powerful enemies, referred to as The Ice Legion, have been integrated into all standard game modes.
Within this Legion, the Golden Ice Brutes are considered the most formidable creatures. However, players believe that more creatures should achieve this ranking.

A highly regarded post on the Fortnite subreddit took seven hours for the author to find a single Golden Ice Brute. They expressed their frustration with the challenge, questioning whether it is too time-consuming to kill 20 of these enemies in one week. Another post humorously depicted the Golden Ice Brute as a missing person on a milk box, asking if anyone had seen them.
The Issue at Hand
The challenge of finding Golden Ice Brutes can be attributed to several factors. These creatures can only be found next to ice spike structures, which limits their spawn areas on the island.
The problem is compounded by the fact that there are four different kinds of creatures that can emerge from these ice spikes, each with varying spawn probabilities. The weaker Ice Fiends and Wraiths appear frequently, while the Brutes, who are stronger, spawn less frequently. The Golden Ice Brutes, being the most powerful, rarely make an appearance.
Furthermore, players have yet to determine how Golden Ice Brutes spawn and whether they can manipulate their appearance. Some are speculating that these enemies may only spawn once per area, while others wonder if they will eventually appear while players wait around the ice spikes, eliminating weaker enemies. It is also possible that Golden Ice Brutes do not spawn near every ice spike.
What We Know About Golden Ice Brute Spawns
According to some players, they have had success in manipulating the spawn of Golden Ice Brutes. YouTuber KRNG Chris shared a video suggesting that these creatures spawn randomly after destroying an ice spike, but their appearance is not guaranteed.
However, it remains uncertain if Golden Ice Brutes also spawn from ice spikes that have not been destroyed.
Due to the lack of information about the ice spike locations, the likelihood of Golden Ice Brutes spawning near ice spikes, and the ability to influence their appearance, the Ice Storm challenge in Fortnite is proving to be nearly impossible to complete.
So far, Epic Games has not addressed this issue publicly.
