Fortnite v7.20 Content Update focuses on improving mobility items and shield fixes

Fortnite v7.20 Content Update: Sneaky Snowman and Item Adjustments

The latest Fortnite v7.20 Content Update has surprised players with significant changes that could impact gameplay strategies. From item additions to adjustments, the update shakes up the way players move around the map, engage in combat, and manage their health.

Sneaky Snowman

Introducing the Sneaky Snowman, a new consumable item in Fortnite. This upgraded version of the legendary Bush allows players to disguise themselves as one of the snowmen found across the Fortnite island. While wearing the Sneaky Snowman, players have 100 health, providing a shield-like effect. However, they are unable to perform any actions other than walking. To utilize the disguise, players must first place the Snowman. The disguise is destroyed if the player swaps items, attempts to build while inside the Snowman, or if its health reaches zero. Look out for the Sneaky Snowman in Floor Loot, Chests, and Supply Llamas, as it drops in stacks of five.

Removed Weapons

The Quad Launcher, an explosive weapon, has been vaulted and is no longer available in all game modes. However, keep an eye out for its potential return in certain Limited Time Modes like High Explosives. The details of its reappearance, if any, have not been announced by Epic. Additionally, the Grappler and the Port-A-Fort have been removed, likely due to Epic’s efforts to reduce mobility.

Mobility Changes

With the removal of the Grappler and adjustments to other mobility items, moving swiftly across the Fortnite island may now be more challenging. Epic has decreased the spawn chances of X-4 Stormwing Planes and Quadcrashers to 50%, down from 80% and 100%, respectively. Gliders and Balloons are also less likely to spawn from now on.

Increased Spawn Rates for Shield Items

After receiving player feedback about the scarcity of Small Shield Potions and other shield items in the v7.20 update, Epic has made changes. The spawn rates of Small Shield Potions and regular Shield Potions have been swapped, making it easier to find Small Shield Potions in floor loot and chests. However, getting a big Shield Potion to reach 100 shield after using two small potions may be more challenging.

These changes are just the beginning, as Epic has more in store for players with the upcoming v7.30 update. Excited players can jump into the game now to experience the new update, as server downtime was not required this time.
