Complete information released for Fortnite World Cup Open Qualifiers

Epic Games Announces Details for Fortnite World Cup Online Open Qualifiers

Epic Games has shared all the information regarding the first Fortnite World Cup Online Open Qualifiers. Players aged 13 or above, who have activated two-factor authentication and have a minimum account level of 15, can participate from any console or region.

The Open Qualifiers will commence on April 13 in all official Fortnite regions, including North America East, North America West, Europe, Asia, Brazil, and Oceania. Participants will compete in three stages to earn a spot in the Fortnite World Cup.

Stages of Open Qualifiers

The first stage is the Arena Mode, which will be available starting from this week’s v8.20 update. Epic states that players can “compete on their own schedule to try and progress to the Champion League,” unlocking the second stage, the Fortnite World Cup Online Open tournaments.

The Online Open tournaments will take place every Saturday, and all players who qualify from the Arena Mode can participate. They will have three hours to score as many points as possible in up to 10 matches. The top 3,000 players in each region will advance to the final stage, the Open Finals on Sundays.

Every Sunday, the top players in each region will have a three-hour window to play up to 10 matches and earn as many points as possible. Once the window closes, Epic will verify eligibility for prize money and inform players of their earnings from the $1 million prize pool for that week.

Schedule and Scoring

The Open Qualifiers will run for a total of 10 weeks, alternating between Solo and Duos tournaments. Solo tournaments will take place during weeks one, three, five, seven, and nine, while Duos tournaments will be held during weeks two, four, six, eight, and 10. Each week’s tournament will award players a portion of the $1 million prize pool, with the specific shares yet to be announced.

The scoring system will vary between Solo and Duos tournaments, as shown in the table below.
