Fortnite 7.10 Update Brings Festive Season to the Game
The latest update for Fortnite, version 7.10, is here and it’s all about celebrating the holiday season. Starting on December 19th at 8 am CT, the new event called “14 Days of Fortnite” will bring a Christmassy feel to Fortnite: Battle Royale.
New Limited Time Modes for 14 Days
One of the major highlights of this event is the addition of a special rotation of Limited Time Modes. For the next 14 days, Epic Games will introduce new and returning team game modes to Battle Royale. Larger team modes like Team Rumble with 20-person teams and Soaring 50’s with 50-person teams will be available for two days, while smaller team modes like four-player Squads will last for 24 hours.
Exclusive Rewards and Daily Challenges
Players can expect to have at least two Limited Time Modes to choose from at any given time during the 14 Days of Fortnite. Alongside these modes, there will be special daily challenges for players to complete in order to earn exclusive rewards. Epic Games has not yet revealed what these rewards will be.
Festive Map Changes and Cosmetics
Epic Games will also be making festive changes to the game map. According to the company, “the holidays have hit Battle Royale, and it’s shown across the map in a variety of ways.” The Grenade Launcher will get a visual makeover and become the Snowball Launcher, while bushes and the Legendary Bush item will be decorated with holiday lights.
Holiday and snow-themed skins and cosmetics will also be available in the Item Shop throughout the 14 Days of Fortnite. Players can expect to see the return of old Christmas skins on a daily basis. This may be the only opportunity to get these skins until next year, as Epic Games is likely to keep them out of regular rotations until the next holiday season.
